We work with both public and private schools. Helping them measure, monitor and reduce their energy bills,
educate and empower pupils to become energy monitors and help the school to reduce their energy usage
further, to upgrade their facilities and become energy independent and to report their achievements both
internally to teachers, pupils and the board and externally to parents, the community and stakeholders.
As part of the Empower step of our model for schools ecoDriver have developed Key Stage classes 1-4 to
get the children really involved. They will use the ecoDriver system in various classes, they learn about energy,
how it has been produced in the past, the effects of this and then the upgraded sustainable energy products
that the school purchases.
Not only is this educating our children for the future economy and teaching them to live a sustainable life, but it has also been proven to further their learning in basic classes such as reading. They are interested in the subject and use more sophisticated language and the result is improved learning.
We are particularly proud of our work with Richard Dunne and his Ashley C of E Primary School in Walton-on-Thames. They have installed ecoDriver into the school, have solar panels, a biomass boiler and vegetable gardens that the children tend to and grow. They have recently won the prestigious Ashden Award for Sustainable Energy.
